So yesterday April 1, 2012 I went to see The Devil Wears Prada with a couple of my friends. I can honestly say that this concert was the most fun I've had in quite a while. As soon as we walked into the venue I began getting jittery because I was so excited. I've been wanting to see TDWP for such a long time and I'm so glad I was able to, especially with friends. Four Bands played in all, Oh Sleeper, Let Live, Every Time I Die, and of course The Devil Wears Prada. I liked Oh Sleeper and Every Time I Die, but I thought Let Live wasn't very good. Since it was April Fools Day each band was playing trick on each other during their sets. There was some funny stuff happening on stage, like a luchadore tackling the singer for Oh Sleeper. While let live was playing the drummer from Oh Sleeper came out with an inflatable raft and jumped out into the crowd, riding the wave of people. While Every Time I Die was playing they threw buckets of ping pong balls out on to the stage, and I was able to grab one. Also while they were playing the Tour manager came out and set up a table and some folding chairs while other band members came out and sat down. He returned with a case of beer and gave one to the four or five guys, left and then came back with a pizza and served them all a slice. All while the band was still playing! Later the tour manager came out with an ironing board and an iron and then proceeded to iron a band members shirt. After all that TDWP was up next, and I have to say it was one of the best live performances I've ever seen. There was so much energy in the room it was crazy. I loved it. While they were playing the vocalist for Let Live came out covered in barbecue sauce and gave each member a hug, then stage dived into the crowd. They then continued to play the rest of their set which was so fantastic. They then preformed a double encore playing two of my favorite songs "Vengeance" and "Danger: Wildman". It was a fantastic ending to a fantastic show. As we left we went to The Devil Wears Prada's tour bus to see if we could meet any of the band members and we did! We met Jeremy DePoyster, the Bassist Andy Trick, and the replacement keyboard player. I was ecstatic. I got a picture with Jeremy and he signed one of my shoes, which is now on a shelf in my room. All around it was one amazing night and an amazing way to end my spring break. I couldn't be happier.
Also: I have to write a HUGE thank you to my dad for letting us all go and being our ride. I can't thank him enough. I love you Dad.
